On-loan Bradford City youngster Sam Denton marked his second game for Guiseley with the winning goal to give his current side a much-needed and well-deserved victory.
The big defender finally broke the deadlock late in the game but the pressure had been building on the home side. They had been reduced to ten men following a professional foul by Paul Bartle midway through the second half.
Lincoln had edged the goalless first half in terms of possession but had created few chances with Denton and Lee Connor providing a solid central defensive partnership to ensure a second clean sheet since the two were paired together.
"It was a very welcome three points and we played well enough, especially in the second half, to have earned them," said Guiseley's assistant manager Clive Freeman. He was in charge of team affairs with boss Neil Parsley attending his sister's wedding.
"Lincoln are a big, strong side and their place is never easy to go to. We were winning 2-0 at half-time last season when they had a man sent off and they still came back to get a draw out of it.
"When they were reduced to ten again for a foul on Liam Flynn, who is also on loan from City, we didn't read too much into it. We kept going because we know some teams become even harder to beat when they have had a man sent off.
"It was a set piece that saw Sam get the all-important goal. Mark Stuart's corner was well delivered. But it had been coming."
