Albion Sports, who made it to their third final last Thursday when they beat Victoria Rangers 3-0 in the Bradford & District Cup semi-final, need one win from their last three games to secure the Premier Division title.

James Nestor, who hit all three goals in the semi-final, scored a second hat-trick as Albion saw off their nearest rivals Queensbury 3-2.

Two goals in a five-minute first-half spell from Nestor saw Albion in front before Martin Pattison reduced the arrears in the 40th minute.

After wasting several chances, Albion went 3-1 up on the hour when Nestor added his third.

Queensbury gave themselves late hope through Pattison in the 85th minute but now need to win their last four games to secure a runners-up spot.

Deposed champions Fairweather Green went down 5-2 to Pudsey in the third meeting between the two sides in eight days, while Andy Atkinson hit the winner for Oakenshaw in a 2-1 win at Crown.

Whetley Lane, whose great run in the County Cup ended in Thursday's semi-final at Woodlesford when Wakefield club Redoubt edged through 2-1 after extra- time, stayed second with a 3-0 win in their penultimate match at Holme Wood. Martin Kemp scored both goals from free- kicks.

Dudley Hill Rangers belatedly got their promotion challenge in Division One back on track with a 4-2 win over Queensbridge United. Jamie McEwan crossed for Jason Kershaw's opener before going on to complete a hat-trick, the second, after a length-of-the-field passing move, proving the most memorable.

The championship now looks to be between Chellow and West Bowling.

Leaders Chellow were 4-1 winners at bottom club Waggoners while West Bowling had a tougher game against Buttershaw White Star.

Damian Melvin, who hit four goals in Bowling's big midweek win against Wibsey WMC, hit the clincher in a 2-1

victory.

In the tight promotion race in Division 1A, Victoria Rangers went top for the first time with a 3-0 win at former leaders Ventus Sports.

The home side had the best of the first half but unbeaten Vics finished stronger with goals from Ray Gartlan (2) and Cameron Kerin and could even afford a penalty miss from Sean Firth.

Double-chasing Silsden found some resistance at White Horse, who came back through Michael Hanner and Lee Taylor to 3-2 until Silsden secured the points with a fourth goal.

Needing to win their final league game to secure promotion, Division 1B leaders Eccleshill came up short at White Eagles, whose 2-0 win arrested their two-match losing run and kept them in the promotion frame.

Tahir Khan's first-half strike put Eagles in front with Richard Longley getting on the end of a Chris Ndukuba chip to secure the win.

Eccleshill didn't get a shot at goal until Nyle Hussain's effort in the 80th minute and must now hope for Eagles and Park Avenue to slip up in their final games.

Bradford Park Avenue Rangers took their unbeaten run to the 40-mark after a 5-0 win over Ventus United, which was sewn up with three goals in the opening 30 minutes.

Dwight Williamson completed his hat-trick with a penalty and there were goals from Adam Jones and Lincoln Donaldson.

Father and son Michael and Scott Metcalfe shared three goals in Albion Sports Reserves 4-4 draw with Skylark.
