All eyes will be on Bradford Dudley Hill on Sunday, May 1 when the amateur side attempt to pull off a shock at Hull KR in the quarter-final qualifying play-offs for the Northern Rail Cup.

Hill drew the League One giants after finishing top of group six, joining the runners-up from groups one to five.

Player-coach Graeme Hallas, a former Great Britain tourist, is in no way phased by the draw.

"Hull KR are a strong side. But at the end of the day, if I prepare my team correctly and the players perform to their potential, we will get out of the game what we want," he said.

"We are looking for a victory. It would be nice to progress in this tournament and knock them off. We have had a cracking start to the season and long may it continue.

"We are scoring a lot of points but we are also under-scoring which is a nice position to be in. I know how good we are but the lads that are playing don't.

"They are a lot better than the level they are performing at. The problem is getting them to realise that."

Hallas at 34, is still a force to be reckoned with as a player. The former Hull, Huddersfield and Halifax star added: "We have important games in League Three to take care of before we think about Hull KR - and we won't know until May 1 how some of the younger lads perform in this big cup game. But I have been there and one or two of my squad have been there, playing at that level. But we also have one or two who are untried and untested.

"I am pretty sure that each one of the five teams in the draw with us will have thought: 'let's get Dudley Hill'.

Hallas, who made 56 Super League appearances, mainly for Hull, added: "I didn't expect to be playing so much rugby when I took over as coach. But I have been able to offer a little bit of guidance on the field. Don't expect me to be there for too long - I wanted to get my ideas across and the best way to do that is on the field of play.

"I think I am winning that battle and there is a chance I might put my boots away shortly.

"I still enjoy playing but it is waking up on a Sunday or Monday morning that is the problem."

Dudley Hill are no strangers to cup shocks. Last season they knocked Keighley Cougars out of the Powergen Challenge Cup.

The other Northern Rail ties being played on May 1 are: Featherstone v Workington and Swinton v Batley.

Already through to the last eight are group winners Castleford, Whitehaven, Rochdale, Halifax and Doncaster.
