Bradford Park Avenue 1

Hinckley United 1

An early penalty set Avenue on their way against Hinckley in their penultimate home fixture in the Conference North but the visitors pegged them back to prevent a rare home win this season.

A strong appeal was waved away for the home side after the visitors had levelled but a draw was probably a fair outcome as two teams, evenly matched despite Hinckley's comfortable mid-table position, battled it out.

"I was pleased with the outcome,. They are a percentage team who have good movement and work hard but we could have scraped it," said Bradford manager Carl Shutt.

"I'm just glad my players worked hard and got something from it."

The first offence on Oleksewycz came in the ninth minute when he was felled by the keeper as he attempted to reach the rebound from a Pete Naylor shot. The striker picked himself up to fire in the resultant penalty.

Paul Barnes equalised for Hinckley just before the hour but Avenue came good late on after a rocky spell.

Oleksewycz went to ground with a defender's hand pulling at his shirt in the 75th minute and Ben Greaves was unfortunate that his shot was hacked clear by one of two defenders on the line with the Hinckley keeper beaten.
