Bradford Park Avenue head to the Midlands tomorrow to face Nuneaton for their penultimate game in the Conference North, and they are in buoyant mood after a home draw against Hinckley in midweek.

"We were pleased with the result on Wednesday and I'm sure it was a good game for the neutrals," said Bradford manager Carl Shutt.

Avenue had Pete Naylor back in their defence for the 1-1 draw and the manager insists his inclusion makes the side more balanced as well as stronger.

"We have had our problems with injuries and none football-related absenteeism this season but Pete has been one of the successes. When he has played we have been hard to beat.

"That was the case in midweek when he came back and we could have even got a win from it. The confidence of the players is good and there is no reason why we can't end with a couple of wins despite being relegated.

"It is all about seeing what we have within our squad for the next campaign now and giving some of the lads a run in the team.

"I would love to finish with a few wins and that would give the players and the supporters some enthusiasm for next season. The pressure will be on from day one because we will be expected to bounce back.

"With the backing of the board which will allow us to make one or two additions, we should justify our tag as being one of the clubs to do well.

"These things have to be sorted out over the close season after everyone has had a little break for their summer holidays. For now we should be making damn sure we can prove to everyone that we have the desire and application.

"The players have something to prove to themselves over the next three games - and to the fans. If they do that it will make the decisions of the board and the management staff easier."
