Grandma and breast cancer survivor Renee Hoyle is a perfect role model.

The 66-year-old from Wibsey has been catwalk choreographer for a cancer support group's annual fashion show for the past four years.

And with just a fortnight to go before models strut their stuff again she has been hard at work putting them through their paces.

Everyone who walks the length of the catwalk on April 20 at Bradford's Town and Country Club in Manningham Lane is either a breast cancer patient, family member or friend.

Tickets, costing £7.50, are on sale now and Mrs Hoyle is hoping that the show will be a sell-out and bring in funds for the work of Bosom Friends, the support group for breast cancer sufferers.

Mrs Hoyle, who used to work in credit control, she has picked up some tricks of the modelling trade and classy moves from watching fashion shows on TV and from her regular line dancing class.

She joined Bosom Friends six years ago after having a breast removed. Luckily she did not need chemotherapy or radiotherapy but was so touched by the friendship and support Bosom Friends offered her when she was recovering that she signed up as a member.

She has now been elected this year's chairman.

"I know from my own experience how much support and friendship comes from being involved with Bosom Friends," she said.

"When women have just been diagnosed with breast cancer or are going through treatment they have a lot of things on their mind and don't always feel like joining us at that time.

"We want to find a way of reaching those women when they feel ready."

As well as meeting up at the Cancer Support Centre in Duckworth Lane on the third Wednesday of every month at 7pm, the group raises funds.

Around 150 women are already on their mailing list from across the Bradford district but there is plenty of room for more, says Mrs Hoyle.
