A woman accused of the murder of a man whose torso was found on moorland eight years ago, was yesterday granted bail when she appeared in Court charged with his murder.

Tracey Cameron, 39, of Dunsford Avenue, Bierley, made her first appearance before Bradford magistrates, charged with murdering Lennie Fulbirg between August 10, 1996, and March 3 the following year, at Bradford or elsewhere.

A 39-year-old man, Graham Haylett, of Wilson Wood Street, Mount Pleasant, Batley, appeared with her on the same charge.

Solicitors Alastair Bateman, for Cameron, and Philippa Murray, for Haylett, applied for bail, which was opposed by prosecutor Lynn Kershaw.

After a 90-minute hearing, District Judge David Thomas remanded Haylett in custody, but granted Cameron conditional bail.

The conditions were that she resides at an approved bail hostel on Merseyside, she does not return to West Yorkshire except for appointments with her solicitor or at court, does not contact witnesses and has to be assessed by two medical practitioners.

The pair will next appear at Bradford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing next Thursday.

Cameron, who wore a cream zip-up top and jeans, and Haylett, who was dressed in a black jumper and jeans, spoke only to confirm their names, addresses and dates of birth.

The decapitated remains of four-times married Mr Fulbirg, 49, a father of 32 children, were found in a lay-by on the A6033 Hebden Bridge road, above Oxenhope, in March 1997.

Mr Fulbirg, who had been living at the home of his brother, Robert, in Buttershaw, was last seen alive on August 11, 1996.

Police only established the identity of the remains in January last year after advances in DNA technology.
