Keighley Golf Club starts the new season after an extensive programme of work throughout the winter that has seen the construction of four new tees, extensive drainage work on the holes that run parallel to the River Aire and redesigned bunkers the four tough finishing holes.

Course Director Russell Newton said "The last four holes have always been testing, but our new bunkers improve the look of the holes and will make them play even tougher. The drainage work on the sixth and seventh holes will also mean that we have the best possible playing conditions throughout the year."

The club is building on the success of the centenary year in 2004 which saw it win a prestigious Golf Monthly silver medal for the condition of the course and the warm welcome given to visiting players.

Club Captain Simon Tabel said: "We believe that continual but subtle changes are necessary for us to maintain our status as one of the best clubs in the area. We know that our members and visitors will appreciate the changes we have made".

From Monday, May 2. The club will be introducing a summer saver green fee, £60.00 per 4-ball available between 14.30 and 15.30 Mon - Fri subject to availability. (Must be booked in advance through pro shop).

The club has a limited number of places available for new lady and junior members, also applications being accepted to join the waiting list for full male membership. For more information contact club manager Cameron Dawson on 01535-604778.
