Colin Todd has stepped up his goalkeeper hunt - but Mark Paston is "definitely not" one of his targets.

There had been a wild rumour that City might try to bring back the New Zealander, who recently left Walsall after less than a season.

But Todd has

rubbished that as he lines up possible replacements for Paul Henderson.

Donovan Ricketts made his debut against Brentford today and Todd revealed there are other names in the pipeline.

"I've got one or two in mind," he said. "I've got to keep monitoring them but the situation can change.

"I'd like three keepers if my budget stretches that far but we'll have to wait and see. I could be in a similar position to last year when I had no goalkeepers at all to start with.

"You speak to goalkeeping coaches to see who is about and you get lots of letters but some of them are just kids."

Meanwhile, Danny Ekoku is hoping to earn a chance at Nottingham Forest.

Striker Ekoku, released by City last week after a spell with Bradford Park Avenue, played for Forest's reserves against Aston Villa.

Former City top-scorer Eoin Jess was also in the home side after four months out with injury. Ekoku had one scoring chance but Villa, whose team included Carlton Cole and Eric Djemba-Djemba, won 2-1.
