Bradford Dudley Hill 20

Hemel Stags 10

Bradford Dudley Hill coach Graeme Hallas had to give his team a right royal rollocking at half-time in this LHF Healthplan National League Three game at Parry Lane.

Hill were 10-4 behind to a very muscular Hemel Stags side in what had been an error-strewn first half.

But what Hallas said certainly did the trick as the hosts recovered in the second half to stay in second place behind Bramley Buffaloes, who defeated Warrington Wizards 42-10 yesterday.

Michael Piper's try had put Hill ahead in the 22nd minute after he broke through from 30 metres out but they then conceded tries to Caz Harris on the half-hour and James Ellershaw five minutes later, Barry John Swindells adding one conversion.

Tony Williams showed that Hill had responded to Hallas' words with a try in the 48th minute, and he crossed again in the 70th minute, this time from acting half, adding the goal himself. And it was Williams' half-break that put Craig Tyman over three

minutes later for the clinching try, Williams converting.

Hallas' team talk was the game-breaker for Hill, man of the match was John Vaicekauskas for an 80-minute stint and the game star was fellow prop Richard Bingley, who played for an hour.
