Chris Shepherd produced a devastating spell of bowling to give Division A newcomers Tong Park their first win, which took them into joint fourth place with Otley.

Shepherd's 11-over stint saw him take five for 24, which included a hat-trick and, later, two in a row as Burley were dismissed for 130, chasing the home side's 180.

David Brady was top scorer with 49 as Otley were dismissed for 141 by Kirkstall Educational, who cruised to victory with five wickets to spare and look to be one of the sides to fear this season.

A stubborn 19-over partnership of 80 between Phil Atkinson and Robert Britton allowed Green Lane to hang on for a draw against early-season leaders Follifoot.

Half-centuries from Bruce Percy and Duncan Stowe, who shared a stand of 103, helped Rawdon notch their first win of the season at Guiseley.

The home side had set a target of 171 for eight, mainly thanks to a knock of 56 by skipper Ian Chaplin but Rawdon had seven wickets to spare at the close. Despite a century from Kiwi Leighton Parsons that included 12 fours, Ilkley became the

latest victims of in-form Division B leaders Horsforth, the only side with a 100 per cent record.

Ben Clarke led the way for the home side with 44 of their 200 and when Parsons found little support against the accurate pace attack of Chris Lewis and Andy Robinson, Ilkley were bowled out for 151.

Aussie Nick Carroll was the star of the show as Steeton kept hold of second place with a six- wicket win over Menston.

His 12-over spell of three for 25 was the perfect back-up for Neil Spragg, who took five for 18 in just nine overs as Menston were dismissed for 96. Ted Lester hit 56. Carroll then hit a half century as Steeton strolled home with six wickets to spare.

Calverley were bowled out for 184, a target Bardsey never looked likely to reach, but despite some fine bowling from Jake Brown (3-25) and Brian Wilson (5-37), the visitors managed to hang on for a draw.

A sixth-wicket stand of 85 between Dave Jackson and Lee Bilberry helped Silsden to victory over Thackley and puts them into fourth place.

Mark Taylor crashed 80 in as many balls to help Addingham become one of three sides at the top of Division C.

Harden were always behind the run rate as Chris Taylor (4-27) and Richard Simpson (4-30) tore through the wickets, dismissing them for 96 in 37.4 overs.

David Corcoran (52) and Alex Long (96) steered Olicanian to a win at Bolton Villas and a share of top spot. Their task would have been much easier but for a tenacious 64 from Villas' No8 batsman Brent Shackelton.

Ian and Steve Winterbottom put up stern resistance to salvage a point for Ben Rhydding at New Rover, who raced to 262 for four, mainly thanks to skipper Michael Richmond, whose unbeaten 132 included five sixes and 12 fours.

Skipton are still without a win after being skittled out by Colton for 63.
