Visitors to a farm are being invited to name a baby Shetland pony which was unexpectedly brought into the world.
Jenny, a ten-year-old pony – one of the star attractions at St Leonard’s Farm, Esholt – delivered a foal in the warmth of the farmhouse after farmer James Wainhouse noticed the mare was having contractions.
He said: “It was very much a surprise. The foal is quite little, about one-and-a-half feet tall, and it would be nice if people can come up with a good name.”
Mr Wainhouse is offering a free family ticket for two adults and two children to visit his farm park. Visitors will also get to see four recently-hatched baby chickens.
Suggestions for the foal’s name should be submitted to Mr Wainhouse, who will pick his favourite, via e-mail to farmerjames1@aol.com.
