Pupils and staff at Sandy Lane Primary School, Bradford, donned silly hats for the day to raise money for victims of the Haiti earthquake.
A total of £500 was collected for the disaster appeal, with some children even creating their own wacky headgear for the occasion.
Andrea Legallez, a member of the school’s parent involvement team, said many parents had given generously to the appeal.
She said: “We saw coverage of the disaster on TV and realised people were so desperate we thought we should do something to help them. We’re that kind of school – we do a lot of fundraising.”
