Budding models are being invited to strut their stuff by entering this year's contest for young catwalk stars.

Beauty kings and queens are being urged to sign up for the Telegraph & Argus Modelsearch 2005 before the final deadline on Sunday, May 15. So far more than 150 entries have flooded in.

Winners will receive a year's placement with Catwalk modelling agency in Leeds and vouchers from the Kirkgate Shopping Centre.

Modelling scouts will be scouring the Kirkgate Shopping Centre in Bradford on Saturday, May 14, between noon and 4pm, to hunt for faces of the future.

The first round of the competition will be held on Sunday, May 22 from 11am to 4.30pm, when judges will select finalists for the last stage, on Monday, May 30 from 11am to 4pm.

Catherine Riley, centre manager, said: "It has been fantastic so far. It gives youngsters the opportunity to get up on the catwalk and then, of course, you never know what can happen. We will be looking for that something

special.

''It's not always about being drop-dead gorgeous but more personality, presence and the way the very young ones engage with the adults. It's a complete package."

Two overall winners of Modelsearch 2005, one male and one female, will get a year's modelling contract.

The top male and female in the adult age group will win £100 each in Kirkgate vouchers, while the top boy and girl in each of the other three categories will receive £50 each in Kirkgate vouchers.

Categories this year are four to six years, seven to ten years, 11 to 15 years and 16 plus years.
