JOINT leaders of the First Division, Bingley Congs and Barrowford, both won to keep their momentum going.

Congs were at Cowling and knocked the home side over for 104 with Steve Richardson making 34 and skipper Martyn Dalby 32. Andy and Neil Copping both took three wickets each. The visitors then cruised to a seven-wicket victory, as David Sutton took 3-10.

Meanwhile Barrowford were at Bradley and the game was a personal triumph for Ratnesh Misra. First he top scored with 41 as the Red Rose side scored 146-9. He followed up with 7-18 as the South Craveners plunged to 64 all out with Neil Robinson making 35.

Embsay's John Metcalfe was in sparkling form again taking 8-25 as Glusburn where dismissed for 85 with Mark price ending up with 38no. This was in reply to the Shires Laners' 193 with useful contributions from openers Dave Robinson 56 and Simon Bailey 35. Omar Khatab was the best of six bowlers used, taking 3-8.

Haworth WE were the visitors to Thornton and went down by eight wickets. They made 60 batting first with Scott Hudson taking 7-21 and Richard Craddock 3-11.

Haworth were made to pay dearly for dropping Chris Welch before he had scored at Cullingworth. The homesters were in trouble at 118-5 after 33 overs. Then Welch blasted six 6's and eight 4's in a knock of 86 to help his side to 230. Jamie Rowell finished with 6-68 off 17 overs and Damian Rowell 3-63. Rowell then held the Bronte innings together with a gritty knock of 71. Sadly only Derek Bright with 22 was able to offer assistance, as the Bronte side succumbed for 147. Dave Robinson put in a superb spell to finish with 7-20 off 16.2 overs.

Oakworth opened their victory account with an easy eight-wicket win over Foulridge. The Noyna side could only muster 80 with Phil Swarbrick top scoring with 21 as Jason Bilbrough finished with 3-25 off 13 overs. The home side took 22 overs reaching their target with Michael Scarborough scoring 31no and Drew Duffy 28no.

Chatburn and Denholme top the Division Two after both enjoyed comfortable victories. The Ribblesdale side entertained Sandy Lane who were dismissed for 125. Mark Oldfield top scored with 32 as Steve Booth took 5-50. J Hopcroft 38no and Steve Procter 35 saw the home side to the spoils by five wickets.

Denholme were also at home, to Skipton CI, and they notched up a splendid 210-4 with David Wear scoring 59 and S Rogers 56. The Skipton side closed 72 runs short of their target.

Airedale are third despite losing at home to Ingrow. The hill toppers Adie Parker 61 and David Brown 39 helped them to 163 all out. The homesters crashed to 18-6 before recovering slightly to reach 66 all out.

Cononley head a group of six teams on five points. They knocked over Crossflatts at the Colthurst ground by 59 runs with Charles Calvert 76 and Matt Town 7-72 being their stars.

Haworth Road went down by just 17 runs at home to Sutton. The visitors made 135-8 with Stephen Doane top scoring with 34. In reply Darren Wild bowled through to finish with 6-45 as Chris Griggs made 54.

Pendle Forest were in fine form on their trip to Long Lee. They dismissed the homesters for 93 with Nick Daniels claiming 6-49 off 18.5 overs. The Fence side galloped home by 10 wickets with John Bracewell scoring 74 of the 95 runs scored.

Three sides head Division Three with eight points. Embsay II were in a mean mood when they entertained Haworth Road and gained revenge for their cup defeat last season. The Shipley side were hustled out for a measly 22 with Zufar Iqbal taking a fantastic 8-6. The Shires Laners romped to a 10-wicket win.

Thornton II got the better of Gargrave where the home side made 124. Paul Drinkall scored 31 as Mark Laycock claimed 6-51. The latter was then the mainstay of the visitor's 126-8, scoring 34. Ray Jones 4-39 and T Cowburn 4-64 tried their best to snatch the spoils.

Ingrow St John's galloped to a solid 78-run victory at Bullholme. All round batting got the Keighley side to 157-9 as Peter Hakin took 5-50. Barrowford were dismissed for 79 thanks mainly to Colin Bottomley who finished with 6-49 off 16 overs.

Oakworth II are lurking ominously one point behind after a good seven-wicket win over Pendle Forest.

Ingrow St John's II suffered a nine-wicket defeat at home to Riddlesden. Chris Terry performed the hat-trick in his 4-17 to go with P White's 3-37 as Saints were dismissed for 106. Then Kevin Lawler 54no and David Henson 36no saw the visitors to the points.

Jimmy Nelson's recorded their first victory of the season at home to Wilsden.

Crossflatts II sit on top of Division Four following their nine-wicket thrashing of visitors Bradley II. The South Craveners managed 122-9. In the successful reply R Andrews made 63no and L Bailey 39.

A point behind come Glusburn II who made hard work of seeing of seven-man Wilsden II. The home side managed a creditable 111-6 - a total the visitors lost eight men passing.

After two weeks unable to raise a second team Skipton CI II mustered enough bodies to tackle Carleton and came away with the points. The Skipton side scored 174-4 thanks to Paul Mason 62no and Nigel Carr 44. Carr then claimed 5-25 to help Carleton back to the hut for 86.

Airedale II were rolled over for a modest 56 with Gary Searby claiming 7-33 and Damian Bailey 3-13. Haworth II knocked off the runs for the loss of two wickets.

Cowling II got the better of Bingley Congs II at Beckfoot, winning by 24 runs. Veteran Vern Rooke made 61no as the visitors scored 135-8. Congs were restricted to 111-9 with Rooke taking 3-32 to go with N Glover's 5-35.

Keighley TC's Chris Paddy Brookes had plenty of reason to be sore at his teammates as they dropped at least two chances, with the last pair at the wicket, which would have given him all ten wickets. He finished with 9-29 from 15 overs, as visitors Long Lee were bowled out for 113 of which Matthew Barnes scored 69no. This was in reply to Tech's 161-8. Wayne Coppack scored 70 and the unfortunate Brookes was run out for 48. The pair put on 116 for the first wicket. Fourteen-year-old Mark Portlock was the pick of the bowlers taking 5-26.

Sutton II find themselves top of Division Five after finishing bottom last year. They rolled visitors Pendle Forest III over for 43 and galloped to an eight-wicket win.

Cullingworth II are second after enjoying a five-wicket victory at Ingrow II.

Cononley II recorded a 20 run victory in a low scoring game at Riddlesden II. The visitors were reduced to 74 all out as evergreen Joe McCool took 8-26. M Beer, 6-19 and T Holloway 4-22 put the homesters to the sword.

Gargrave II were 138 runs too good for Foulridge II at Noyna.

Finally the bowlers were on top in the Sandy Lane II and Chatburn II game, which the latter won by 15 runs. P Sutcliffe 5-18 and N Smith 4-36 did the damage for the losers whilst P Shorrock created havoc for the Ribblesdale side.
