Police are hunting a gunman who threatened a shop boss in an attempted robbery.
The raider, armed with a handgun, and two accomplices tried to steal the till from D & P Stores, in Thorn-ton Road, Fairweather Green, Bradford, but fled empty-handed when other members of the family went to investigate.
The shop owner was stacking shelves when he saw a man holding a gun.
The gunman pointed the weapon at the store boss and said: “Don’t move.”
The owner went behind the counter and shouted at the robbers. Two female family members heard the commotion and went into the shop.
The gang tried unsuccessfully to remove the till, then ran out of the shop, escaping in a dark Toyota Lexus.
Police are hunting three men, believed to be Asian.
Detective Sergeant Ben McDonald, of Airedale and North Bradford CID, said: “It was a frightening experience for the shopkeeper.”
