A Bradford band are one step closer to the big time after accepting a multi-album worldwide deal with a major US record label.

Acoustic indie rockers Scars On 45 are planning an assault on the music industry across the pond after signing to Atlantic Records’ affiliate label, Chop Shop.

The band, who have already been attracting fans in America after one of their songs featured on hit television programme CSI:NY, signed the deal this week and are now waiting to be flown out to Los Angeles to mix their debut album.

Singer Danny Belrose said he expected the album, which was recorded in the band’s Bradford studio this year, to be released in America in March.

He said: “We are on a bit of a high at the moment.

“It all kind of stems from the CSI thing. It has been in the pipeline and we have been in negotiation between lawyers – it’s more of a relief now it’s done and dusted.”

While most British bands tend to do well on their own patch before trying to conquer the US, Danny said the band was pleased to have done it the other way round.

He said: “It’s what every new band that starts out hopes for – to get a record deal with a big label.

“We think we deserve it because of the amount of hard work we have all put in, and it’s paid off. It just shows that if you want something bad enough you will get it.

“We have done it for long enough now, and a lot of other bands would have probably given up, but we have stuck with it and it’s paid off.

“We think we’ve got a good album together, so we are just looking forward to people hearing it, to be honest.

“We tried for such a long time with various bands that we have been involved with in the past and no-one has touched us at all in England, so it’s just nice to go to America and do it the other way round really.”
