A robbery victim suffered a fractured cheekbone after he was punched and kicked by a pair of muggers who attacked a woman seconds later.
The man, in his 50s, was walking towards Asda in Rooley Lane, Bradford, through a ginnel between Burras Road and the car park at 3.30pm yesterday, when he was approached by two men.
They asked him for a cigarette then punched and kicked him to the ground before taking a number of items, including a mobile phone and cash.
As they made off towards Burras Road they ran past a woman who was walking up the ginnel. One of them grabbed her handbag and in the struggle she fell to the ground.
The male victim was admitted to hospital with swelling to his eye and a fractured cheekbone.
The woman was shaken but uninjured.
The suspects are both described as white, in their late teens or early 20s, slim, and 5ft 7ins. One was wearing a white hooded top and blue jeans and the other wore a black jacket with a hood.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and was being questioned tonight.
