The only direct train between Bradford and London was cancelled today when a derailment caused widespread disruption to services across West Yorkshire.
The derailment happened at Micklefield, east of Leeds, in the early hours.
The East Coast rail company apologised for having to cancel the 6.30am service from Bradford Forster Square to London King's Cross.
Passengers wanting to get to London from Skipton and Horsforth were also forced to make alternative plans, while several services between Leeds and London were cancelled.
Meanwhile, Cross Country trains from Leeds to York were diverted via Castleford, extending journeys by up to 25 minutes.
Northern Rail services were also affected, with a replacement bus service being introduced from Leeds to Selby and Leeds to York.
Trains travelling to Bradford from destinations north of Leeds were running about 15 minutes late.
