A 22-year-old man was punched in the face following an altercation with another passenger on a train travelling from Shipley to Keighley.
The victim suffered a split lip, facial bruising and swelling following the assault on a Northern Rail service, British Transport Police said yesterday.
BTP Officer Tony Greenwood said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who may have been travelling on the train and may have witnessed the assault to contact police.
“A 42-year-old local man has been arrested and released on police bail in connection with the incident.”
