Police have thanked residents who helped to tidy up a footpath in Baildon.
The path through Knoll Wood, between Bertram Drive and Green Lane, had become a haven for “undesirables”.
But residents took it into their own hands to cut back shrubbery, clear rubbish and prevent access for motor vehicles, improving the appearance and safety of the path.
PCSO Lynne Barnett said: “A boulder was blocking the Bertram Drive end of the pathway and a tree trunk has been placed to block the Green Lane end.
“This has improved the usability of the footpath and hopefully people will feel more confident and secure in the knowledge it is not so overgrown and vehicles will not be driving up and down.
“We are aware of the reports of drug dealing but hopefully the last six weeks of more intensive neighbourhood policing in the area has gone a long way to deter this behaviour.”
