Pudsey police station has been brightened up with posters designed by schoolchildren.
Pupils at Leeds West Academy, Swallow Hill Community College, Priesthorpe School, Pudsey Grangefield School and Crawshaw School took part in a poster competition organised by Youth and Schools Officers PC Dave Hardaker, PC Lynne Kitchingman and PC Lucy Armstrong.
The children were asked to design a poster that captured the theme What The Police Do.
The winning entrants were awarded cash prizes and gift vouchers and the best entries are now going on display in the station’s public reception area.
Inspector Mark Bownass, who heads the West Inner Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Neighbourhood policing is all about engaging with local people across the age range and this was an excellent way of working with young people and getting them to think about the work we do.
“It is very clear that a lot of time and effort went into creating these posters and we are very grateful to all those who took part and have helped to brighten up the station’s front office.”
