Alan Ayckbourn’s Absurd Person Singular, described as “savagely funny” and “seriously hilarious”, comes to Bradford next week.
It’s party time at the Hopcrofts’ place and the only present they want is to move up the social ladder. Havoc ensues at the drinks party they hold to impress their high-powered friends – but that’s nothing compared to what happens over the next two years when the friends return their hospitality.
The production has an all-star cast, including Lisa Kay, best known as Nurse Carol Cassidy in Heartbeat, Elizabeth Carling, star of Casualty and Goodnight Sweetheart, Matthew Cottle, who starred in Game On, Stephen Beckett, whose TV credits include The Bill and Coronation Street, Deborah Grant, a regular in sitcom Not Going Out, and Robert Duncan, best known as Gus in Drop The Dead Donkey.
Absurd Person Singular runs at the Alhambra from Monday to next Saturday. For tickets, ring (01274) 432000.
