Police in Bradford are looking for volunteers to help tackle crime in their communities as part of a new neighbourhood policing project.

The Community Crime Fighters will work with Neighbourhood Policing Teams to make Inspectors aware of issues affecting their communities.

So far 27 volunteers have signed up to the scheme, which aims to create stronger links between the force and the communities it serves, but police hope more will come forward.

Inspector Dave Browning, neighbourhood crime and justice co-ordinator for Bradford District Police, said: “The Community Crime Fighter scheme is one of our most important neighbourhood policing projects in Bradford and is a key way for us of ensuring we are tackling the issues that matter at a local level.

“Those who volunteer give up their own time to do so and really are true community champions.”

Anyone interested in bec-oming a Community Crime Fighter should contact their local Neighbourhood Police Team, details of which can be found at westyorkshire. police.uk/npt or on 0845 6060606.
