A pub is paying its own Remembrance Day tribute, giving people an alternative to going to church.

Licensee Audrey Coyne, whose nephew was killed by a bomb blast in Helmand province in Afghanistan last year, took over The Devonshire in Thornton Road, Bradford, five weeks ago. She is organising almost 24 hours of entertainment for all the family and fundraising starting at 8pm on Sunday, November 8, and not ending until the next morning.

She is getting a helping hand from her niece Tiffany, who is one of 123 models who have been chosen to star in the Help The Heroes calendar for 2010.

The 18-year-old, from Tong Street, will be at the pub signing photos and joining in the marathon fun.

“I just thought it would be good to offer people an alternative,” said Audrey.
