Police are appealing for the public’s help in catching whoever was responsible for firing projectiles at buses in Clayton, Bradford.
The shots punctured at least one window on two different buses as the vehicles passed along Thornaby Drive, in opposite directions, at around 10pm on Tuesday.
None of the passengers or drivers on the 636 service were hurt but Airedale and North Bradford CID are conducting inquiries in the area.
A full search of both buses is being made by specially- trained officers and a search warrant was executed at an address in Clayton in connection with the matter. Searches continued yesterday.
Chief Superintendent Allan Doherty, Divisional Comman-der of Airedale and North Bradford Police, said: “A search of both vehicles has not revealed anything onboard so far and a more detailed examination is being conducted by Scenes of Crime Officers.
“At this stage we are therefore keeping an open mind as to what has caused the damage.
“It is fortunate, however, that no-one was injured in this incident and the person responsible has committed an act which has been both extremely irresponsible and dangerous.”
Anyone with information about the incidents should contact Airedale and North Bradford CID via 0845 60 60 606 or CrimeStoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
