As female fantasies go, the male dancers gyrating through the dry ice ticked just about every box.

We had a cowboy, a fireman, a biker, a welder and a white-suited Marine. And when all their clothes just fell off, revealing sparkly shorts, the scene was set for a ladies’ night to remember.

To the opening beats of I Need A Hero, Bernie, Linda, Maureen and Colleen appeared in shades and power suits. These divas have come a long way since they were teenagers in frilly dresses – and with a cracking 90-minute set the Nolans proved they’ve still got it.

“Have we any Loose Women? here?” cried Colleen, to a delighted packed crowd With spectacular costume changes and an impressive set, taking us from a smoky jazz club, complete with dancers leaping off a pool table, to a red hot disco pumping beneath a giant glitter ball, this was a delightfully camp show celebrating three decades in the business.

The girls looked and sounded fabulous, belting out hit after hit with pitch-perfect, roof-raising voices any X Factor contestant would die for. They combined their hits, including Gotta Pull Myself Together, Attention To Me and a storming finale of I’m In The Mood For Dancing, with diva anthems like It’s Raining Men. And the original girl band proved more than a match for today’s starlets, with classy performances of hits from Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Christina Aguilera and Pink.

Supported by Colleen’s sons, Shane and Jake – talented young singers with an endearing comic touch – this was a hugely entertaining show that left us in the mood for dancing all night. Come back soon girls.
