Eight people are facing public order charges after anti-social behaviour in Bradford city centre as revellers spilled out of nightclubs.
Six Bradford men were charged with affray – Steven Jackson, 23, of Roans Brae, Greengates; Andy Boltwood, 23, of Redcar Road, Greengates; Mark Roper, 23, of Delius Avenue, Ravenscliffe; Stefan Grant, 18, of Basil Street, Canterbury; Adam Nagy, 19, of Waincliffe House; and Christopher Wakefield, 20, whose address was not provided by police yesterday.
Danielle Sarchet, 19, and Simon Barnes, 21, both of Leeds, were charged with assaulting a police officer.
The eight people charged will appear before Bradford Magistrates next Wednesday.
The offences were allegedly committed during two separate incidents in Market Street, Centenary Square, Sunbridge Road and Ivegate.
Police had to use CS spray and batons to defuse the situations.
Tito’s nightclub, in Ivegate, which was at the centre of the disturbance in August, was closed down by police for 48 hours after the incident.
The club agreed to follow a strict action plan and stop offering all-inclusive drinks promotions. The measure is still in force.
Inspector Pickles said: “The plan could ultimately lead to a review of its licence but since it begun there have been no problems whatsoever.”
