A Bradford-based body that promotes the role of women in the science, engineering and technology industries has invested more than £86,000 in partnership schemes.
The UK Resource Centre funded ten initiatives with partner organisations through its Innovative and Collaborative Grants Scheme.
Grants of up to £10,000 were made available for projects that involved developing partnerships in areas such diversity, responding to the impact of the recession, developing green technology and improving the participation and progression of women in science, engineering and technology (SET).
Annette Williams, the director of the centre, said: “We encouraged innovative projects which found unique ways of supporting individual women entering and progressing in SET and changing organisational culture.
“I was delighted with the standard of applications and feel that this investment, which in many cases was match funded from other organisations, will have a real impact on developing the women in the SET landscape and ultimately make a real difference.”
The UKRC is trying to ensure women scientists, engineers and technologists are valued as equals among their male counterparts.
