Staff and pupils at Guiseley School celebrate getting the International School Award, presented to them by broadcaster George Alagiah at a ceremony in London.
The award is for outstanding development of the international dimension.
Schools have to show they value and promote links with other countries, through their day-to-day teaching, projects and trips and exchanges. The school prides itself on its tradition of Educational visits and student exchanges, especially with Normandy, France, and Ahlen in Germany.
The school’s activities include projects carried out during visits to Germany, a sixth form cultural and language visit to Paris, the study of war and its human consequences, a Global Issues day and a whole-school International Education week.
