The Gruffalo
St George’s Hall, Bradford
Author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler’s magical tale The Gruffalo celebrates its tenth anniversary on tour.
Bradford youngsters had chance to meet the characters from the book, which has delighted readers the world over, when they were brought to life on stage.
The young audience whooped, cheered, sang and roared their way through the wonderfully-performed Tall Stories show about a nervously shy mouse who becomes brave after conjuring up an imaginary creature – The Gruffalo – to scare a wily wheeler-dealer fox, an eccentric squadron leader owl and a charming maraca-shaking snake.
Of course, those who’ve read the book will know the Gruffalo is no imaginary creature.
A simple yet colourful, comical and highly-entertaining production for everyone – parents and grandparents included!
