A motorist had a lucky escape after his car burst into flames on the Bingley bypass near Silsden in the early hours today.
He smelled burning and opened the bonnet to investigate as the fire took hold of the engine and burned out the red Renault Clio.
Firefighters from Silsden and Keighley attended at about 1.20am. The driver was not hurt but the car was a write-off.
