Budget airline Jet2.com, based at Leeds Bradford International Airport, has announced a scheme to allow passengers to take bags onto its planes for free.
The Free Bags scheme will apply to flights booked from Leeds Bradford to Spain and Portugal between May and October 2010.
When booking their flights, passengers need to enter the ‘FREEBAG’ promotional code at the checkout stage of their booking and Jet2 will take a bag weighing up to 22kg for free, a saving of £9.99 one way or £19.98 each way.
Philip Meeson, boss of the airline, said: “Spain and Portugal are two of the most popular holiday destinations for the people of Yorkshire.
“We already boast real bargains and friendly flight times to these fantastic hotspots.
“However our latest promotion, offering a free bag weighing a generous 22kg on every flight, gives people more money to spend on their holiday and room in their cases to fill with souvenirs.
“I want to encourage everyone to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as this offer won’t be available for long, and you will always want that to pack that extra outfit or pair of shoes for your holiday.”
