Bradford’s Kimberley Walsh was always the most down-to-Earth of the Girls Aloud pop princesses – and now she’s proved it by becoming the face of high street clothing chain New Look.

For a long time time hailed as a poster girl for “normal-looking” women rather than following the stick-thin waif route that many pop stars do, Kimberley will provide inspiration for many as she models the store’s autumn/winter collection.

With outfits ranging from slouchy boyfriend jeans teamed with cosy shirts to high-end glamour-puss shiny party dresses, Kimberley proves she’s well and truly added the model string to her bow of many talents.

What makes the contract really special is that Kimberley was chosen by New Look’s own customers as the woman they’d most like to see as the face of the chain.

When New Look posted a question on its online forums asking who shoppers thought was one of the best style icons of the day, Kimberley’s name came up again and again – as did her womanly curves.

Down-to-earth she may be, but it seems that our Kimberley, 27, is really zooming up the style stakes.

It was only last week that she was named one of the most stylish women in pop by top glossy magazine Cosmopolitan, and photos of her taken by top snapper Lorenzo Agius feature in an exhibition entitled British Style Icons, part of the 30 Days Of Fashion & Beauty 2009 gala party at the Natural History Museum next Monday.
