Police officers Matthew Wilkinson and Simon Ellis are getting ready to drive through seven countries in seven days in their 14-year-old, £50 ‘bumble bee’ car.
PC Wilkinson, of Eccleshill policing, and PC Simon Ellis, a Keighley road traffic officer, are raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, and are being sponsored by the Leapfrog Day Nursery in Guiseley, part of the Busy Bee Group, with support from vehicle technician Craig Brooksbank.
They set off from Guiseley next Thursday on their 1,575-mile trip through France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Poland.
Children from Busy Bees, Leapfrog and TLC Nurseries will chart their progress and record regular reports as they motor along.
