A man burned his hands trying to put out a pan fire at his Bierley home.
He was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary also with smoke inhalation after making his own way out of his home in Oakfield Way.
The man got injured using a fire blanket after a smoke detector went off at about 11.30pm.
Odsal watch manager Chris Linley said: ‘‘The best advice when there’s a fire is to get yourself out and leave the rest to us. Even if it’s a minor fire there’s no point putting yourself at risk.’’
