Investigators at West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have been unable to establish the cause of a huge blaze (pictured) that sent plumes of smoke billowing across a Bradford suburb for several days.

The former Art Glass factory, in Ripley Road, West Bowling, collapsed during the blaze and was so badly damaged that fire investigators could not decide if the fire was deliberate or accidental.

A total of 20 fire appliances attended the large blaze earlier this month and fire crews were still at the scene five days after it broke out. Crews from nearly every fire station in West Yorkshire attended at some stage during that time to provide relief for the Bradford crews.

Associated Waste Management (AWM), which has its headquarters in nearby Barnard Road, had a licence to use the Ripley Road site to store up to 15,000 tonnes of paper and cardboard, and up to 500 tonnes of plastic.
