Support of Bradford fans 'humbling' says Stuart

Stuart McCall is STAYING as Bradford City boss.

McCall today confirmed that he had made up his mind to continue after two weeks of soul-searching.

He said: "The Monday after Dagenham I was almost certainly gone. But I've spoken to a lot of people since to get a level of perspective and the support I've received from the fans has been humbling.

"It's been an emotional time but to top it off and sway my mind was the club's decision to cut back the budget. I didn't want to be seen as walking away from the challenge.

"Since last Monday it's ebbed and flowed but meeting Mark (Lawn) and Julian (Rhodes) made my mind up."

Great news?
He basically failed to do his job.In the real world he would be the proud owner of a brand new p45.
He let us down and we kiss his backside and beg him to stay.

Well done Stuart good decision all the best for the next few seasons. As a player your dream was to captain us into the top flight you achieved that but it took time and two spells as captain. If you had left now you may have not got that second chance and i am sure your dream is to manage Bradford back to the top flight. To all those without faith Rome was'nt built in a day.

You are indeed a Legend! As our banner said " Rome wasn't built in a day!" Chin up now Stuart, and go out and get players that really want to play for this club as much as you did! There are a few already within the present squad, and a few of the loanees that would also do an excellent job here. If you can get them to see the bigger picture and accept a smaller wage for the time being, they are the likes of Furman, Law, and Rehman, they would be rewarded in future years with the success that should be heading the way of BCFC! Lets let the football now do the talking, instead of all the off-field politics!

i am sorry but I have little knowledge of football. Could someone please explain to me why it is that it is always the manager that gets the blame. Surely it must be down to the players who failed miserably on the pitch. I apoligise that I have so little knowledge of the game. This is not a joke, I really would appreciate an answer. Thanks

yes they will be falling over themselves to take a pay cut and come to Bradford.... I thought it was the football that saw them fail to reach the play offs ??

The manager signs the players, is responsible for their coaching, positions them on the field and instructs them before the match and at half-time, it is also his responsibility to get them performing to their full potential.

Stuart is still learning to be a manager. he needs help with that. The club should bring in a mentor - not necessarily a football person, but somone who can help him to develop his leadership skills.

Then they need to beef up the scouting , so that we do not land with the sort of dross we picked up last summer. A mix of honest pros and young ambitious kids would be ideal.

For crying out loud stop moaning. He made a rash statement about getting promoted in 2 years. He has not completely failed in his job but the players have.Did you think he had failed in his job when we were in a play off spot from the first kick of the season until Feb21st? It's basically the same set of players so I would say they are the ones that have let us down in the last 5th of the season. Some folk are so impatient for success.Lest we forget the club have been crippled by a succession of relegations & financial mismanagement since the days of the Premier League. It's going to be a long road back to the better days so if you are one of our 'glory hunter supporters' I suggest you stay away for a while.

It was the football that failed!
New players inc those mentioned...
1. If they don't want to play for us, we don't want them!
2.If they don't want to take a reduced wage, we can't afford them!
3.Its not a matter of taking a pay cut to come to BCFC, we make an offer, if they don't like it they don't sign!
4.There are more players out there than there is players needed by clubs, are there is some gems out there!
5.If there present clubs wanted them they would have already extended their contracts or offered a new one!

If the players are hungry enough to play for this club, they will be willing to play on a smaller wage!

I think the problem here is Stu not keeping to his word and he should never had made that statement.
Also with the current climate and unemployment on the rise i think he doesnt want to be on the dole lol
