The boss of a rail company says he will try to persuade rail regulators to give his company permission to run even more direct services between Bradford and London.
As the Telegraph & Argus reported last month, the Office of Rail Regulation has granted Grand Union permission to run three return services a day between Bradford Inter-change and Kings Cross in its proposed bid for East Coast Main Line track access rights.
But Ian Yeowart, Grand Union’s managing director, says he has not given up hope of gaining permission for a fourth daily return service between the two cities.
The firm aims to start services on the route from December 13 using 125mph streamlined trains.
Councillor Adrian Naylor, Bradford Council’s executive member for regeneration, said the introduction of the services would be “tremendous” news for the Bradford district.
