A former chairman of Bradford magistrates bench, solicitor Joan Crabtree has died in her 90s.
Mrs Crabtree became a magistrate on the Bradford bench in 1961, retiring in 1986.
She was chairman in 1982 and was deeply involved with the probation service and was for some time chairman of the probation liaison committee.
A keen singer, she was a life-long member of the Bradford Festival Choral Society and the Leeds Festival Chorus and became a founder member of Cantores Olicana, based in Ilkley.
Her funeral took place at St Mary’s Church, Kettlewell.
