A Bradford couple overcame their fear of flying to raise £200 for Bradford’s Marie Curie Hospice.
Keith Benit, who had never been in an aircraft before, received two helicopter flights as a gift for his 60th birthday from his brother Arthur.
His wife Isobel, who had also never flown before, accompanied him on the half-hour flight from Leeds Bradford Airport, using raising money for a good cause as motivation.
She said: “Once I had got into the helicopter I was fine and enjoyed it. I am also really pleased we have raised some money for the Bradford hospice as I have known several people cared for there and my husband has recently finished treatment for cancer.”
Community fundraising manager Brenda Doyle praised the couple’s effort.
