There are some fantastic Christmas movies on at the National Media Museum – some new, and some not so new.

From the Academy Award-nominated team which brought you Jimmy Neutron comes the first-ever 3D holiday IMAX film, Santa vs The Snowman, or how about Polar Express?

The great Christmas hit rolls on, winning audiences everywhere, with a stunning romantic style to its animation, and Tom Hanks turned into a cartoon character.

If you don’t fancy a Christmas movie, then there’s Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.

As Air Penguin takes to the skies, the unlikely crew stays airborne just long enough to make it to the wildest place of all – the vast plains of Africa. It seems like a great place…..but is it better than their Central Park home?

Get into the Christmas spirit at St George’s Hall when Bradford Festival Choral Society presents a family Christmas carols concert next Saturday. Bradford’s biggest and best family Christmas celebration is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The concert features the award-winning Yorkshire Building Society Brass Band and Bradford Youth Choir. The concert starts at 7.30pm, and tickets are available from the box office on (01274) 432000.

There’s nothing like a rousing round of carols to put you in the mood for Christmas. Celebrity choirboy Andrew Johnson, the 13-year-old who shot to fame on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, will be making a guest appearance at a carol service at Bradford Cathedral on Monday, starting at 5pm, when there will be refreshments and mince pies. Bradford Cathedral Choir will also be appearing. On Tuesday there is an international carol service at 7.30pm, also at the Cathedral. If you can’t make that one, then visit Centenary Square the following Saturday and join friends and shoppers for carols with Bradford Cathedral Choir and the Salvation Army Band, from 12.30 to 1.30pm.

On Monday at 3pm the Great Victoria Hotel in Bradford is holding a Christmas afternoon tea in the restaurant for the Lord Mayor of Bradford’s charity, the Alzheimer’s Society, With music from Silver Strings and the children of Stage 84, plus fashions from Rag Doll of Pudsey, there are a few tickets still available at £15 per head. As the sun sets tomorrow the famous Torchlight Procession takes place in Haworth. When the band strikes up and the carols begin, the procession slowly winds its way up the main street for a traditional carol service in the church. The final Christmas weekend in Haworth is the truly wonderful Nativity weekend. Go along and enjoy the true meaning of Christmas, joining Mary and Joseph in their search for an inn for the night, with local choirs joining together to create a fantastic atmosphere.

Tomorrow’s your last chance to experience the Yuletide Festival in Skipton. Formerly known as the Medieval Festival, organisers promise much of the same as previous years, as well as some new items to enjoy. Market Street will be closed to traffic throughout the day, which culminates in a candlelit procession to the church as night falls for a carol service.
