The new look of northern Keighley was starting to take shape when C H Wood took this aerial photograph in 1965.
The roundabout at the junction of Skipton Road and Hard Ings Road was under construction, and the pillars which were to carry the road across the railway line were in place, as was the embankment at the far side.
There was no hint, as yet, of the Aire Valley trunk road or of the modern trading estate which was to replace the mills and factories between Lawkholme Lane and the railway as Keighley, like so many other former wool-textile towns, moved away from the industry on which its fortunes were built.
The leisure centre in Victoria Park, at the top of the picture, had yet to make its way on to a drawing board.
Prominent at top left is what is now known as Cougar Park, home of Keighley Cougars, which was then Keighley Rugby League Club.
