Above the proscenium arch of the Prince’s Theatre there was a bust of what I had always thought was William Shakespeare.
It appeared to be painted in a chocolate brown colour, and each week when I went to see The Court Players I always noticed it. My query is, who was the person, and when the theatre was demolished, is there any record of the bust being sent to a theatrical museum for display, or even to a local museum? I cannot think that it would just be left as rubble along with the rest of the demolished items.
I am intrigued to know if any other readers have any idea what happened to this item.
