In response to the Salt High School reunion photograph published on October 2 – I was there. The photograph was taken in Oakroyd Hotel, Lady Lane, Bingley.

Right at the top of picture there are two faces. Mine is the left-hand one. I have to say that apart from remembering the night, I fail to recognise faces as, of course, it was 20 years ago.

One I can spot is Dave Hoddy, who was managing director at Woolcombers and at this time I was in textiles so had some contact with Dave. I don’t remember any teachers being there but, of course, memory fades. I do seem to recall that the main organiser was Val Craven and she had all sorts of memoribilia on the night: school photos, ties etc.

Salt School was split into four houses: Athenians, Spartans, Trojans and Latins. I was, of course, in the best one – Athenians! We had another reunion some time back and we were due to have another last year, but for whatever reason it didn’t materialise (unless, of course, they decided not to invite me).
