Green-fingered Baildon villagers have planted up a plant trailer to boost their bid in the Yorkshire in Bloom competition.
The trailer has taken pride of place at the cattle grid in Northgate, where Baildon in Bloom committee members believe it will impress the judges who visit the village next week.
Publicity officer Ron Bairstow said: “It looks super.
“I have had people ringing me up saying how good it looks. It’s part of the general plan to try and earn more brownie points for the judging.
“With all the new planting we have done round the village centre and the barrier plants we have put in, the village is really looking gorgeous.”
A total of five new barrier planters have been put in around the village and a scarecrow walk has been arranged for September in a boost to bid points.
Mr Bairstow said: “We are making sure people are keeping the place tidy and cutting their hedges back. The whole effort is really to try and help the community work together.”
Judges will be visiting the village at 9.30am on Tuesday.
