THE stunning cherry blossom at Bolling Hall Museum in Bradford will be celebrated with its own festival.

The Bradford Council-run museum is holding the free event on Sunday (April 28) between 11am and 3pm.

The volunteer Bolling Hall Gardeners will be on hand to help visitors plant their own summer bulb in a pot that they’ve decorated, which they can take home.

Make a handcrafted tissue blossom to take home and join in a flower themed children’s story-time in the library with a visit from the Bookstart Bear.

Visitors will also be able to meet Frances Tempest, Lady of the House, as she takes them on a tour of her home, the museum. Mrs Tempest is played by visiteer, Sheila Lansdell.

A balloon modeller will be making balloon flowers to help visitors to celebrate the season. Get your face painted with a blossom-themed design, then see if you can spot the spring creatures and blossom fairies around the garden and the house.

Local mobile coffee shop Lily and Lister will be taking over the museum’s Cold Kitchen selling their ethically sourced, fresh roasted coffee, cakes and sausage rolls.

The event is suitable for all the family, though children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is free, but donations on a pay-as-you-feel basis are always welcome to cover the cost of activities and the work of the volunteers at the museum.
