CITY have announced a £374,000 loss in their latest accounts – but the turnover is a club record for the lower divisions.
The figures published today, dated up to the end of June 2023, show the cost of the club’s unsuccessful promotion push last season.
The wages for players and former manager Mark Hughes were up on the previous 12 months. The total outgoings - which will also include loan fees, medical and scouting costs - of £3.7m, up from £2.9m, also included the pay off for previous boss Derek Adams.
Ironically, the Bantams would probably have turned a profit if they had beaten Carlisle in the play-off semi-finals and reached Wembley.
But the turnover of £8.5m is 20 per cent up year-on-year and the highest in the two decades since they dropped out of the second tier.
The club have also recorded the best commercial revenue since the Premier League with a profit of almost £900,000.
Ticket sales were £388,000 over budget as well as £300,000 from iFollow.
City received £821,000 in transfer and loan fees, £625,000 of which came from academy starlets signing for other clubs. That was up from £459,000 the year before.
The academy recorded a profit of £480,000.
City filed the accounts on March 26 and are waiting for them to be uploaded by Companies House. They will then be available here: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/05102915/filing-history
