THE manager of a Bradford district charity shop has told of her disappointment after items were left dumped outside the store.

Staff from the Sue Ryder shop at Baildon Bridge Retail Park, Baildon, were shocked to find the "mess" on Monday morning.

They have urged people who want to donate items to do so in-store during opening hours.

Janet Lorkins, manager of the shop, said: "We're extremely disappointed by this recent instance of fly-tipping outside our Shipley shop.

"Not only is it bad for the environment and impacts the local community, but it is also unfair on our dedicated staff and volunteers as it takes precious time out of their day sorting out the mess.

"We're currently working with the local authorities to address the issue swiftly so the premise is clean and safe for the local community."

She added: "We're always grateful for any donations we receive, and we wouldn't be able to run our shops without the support of our local community.

"We would ask anyone looking to donate any unwanted quality items to check the shop's opening times and to drop them in-store.

"Then, we can do what we do best and turn them into funds which will help support Sue Ryder Wheatfields and Sue Ryder Manorlands hospices."
