ANOTHER uninsured car has been seized in Bradford.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Steerside Enforcement Team spotted the vehicle on Shipley Airedale Road and stopped it.
A spokesperson from the team said: "The driver tried to pass himself off as the insured party but the photo on his licence was not a match."
He was found to be uninsured so he has been reported to court and the car was seized, the spokesperson said.
"As the holder of his licence for only four months, he stands to lose it on conviction," they added.
It is illegal to drive a vehicle on a road or in a public place without at least third-party insurance.
The police can check on the spot if your vehicle is insured using the Motor Insurance Database.
If it isn't, they can seize it immediately - even if you then arrange insurance at the roadside.
Punishments for driving without insurance can include a substantial fine, points on your licence and even a disqualification from driving.
West Yorkshire Police's Steerside Enforcement Team works across Bradford district, tackling crimes on our roads.
